The new Schleich Quarter Horse is a STALLION, a male. I am looking at it right now. Yep, definitely a male.
This breed by far is my favourite (next to the Australian stock horse). A Quarter horse is a Breed of horse. It's popular at rodeo's and western pleasure trials as they are real western horses. The quarter horse gets its name from being the fastest horse across a quarter mile, so its perfect for fast disiplines e.g. Barrel and flag racing, pole bending etc.
The First Quarter, New, Third Quarter, and Full
The history of the Quarter horse: In 1604, the first pilgrims brought what many people believe to be the early stock for Thoroughbreds (Arabian and Spanish based stock) to the Virginia settlements. An interest in horse racing rose among the settlers and they found out that the new horse breed were the chosen mount. At only 14 hands, they weren't as tall but fast, capable of racing the quarter mile tracks. Some historians believe that more Spanish and Irish part breeds (known today as Irish Hunters) added height. The result was a taller animal (14.2-16hh) that was capable of working on small farms, being a sure-footed trail mount and a fast horse. Today's horse is 14-16 hh and can be any color but most commonly bay and chestnut. They are an all-purpose horse that competes in western events, trail riding and for appendix quarter horses, steeple-chasing and racing the quarter mile.

The French Quarter - also known as Vieux Carré - was built in the year 1734. It was built in the period when the Spanish had rule over New Orleans. It has been protected by law and cannot be demolished.
You can go to Schleich's website to find the new animals that are coming out this year. According to the site, in January, Schleich is releasing new horses, bunnies, cats, geese, Smurfs, and various other animals. In May, there will be more people figures, and new playsets featuring animals. There will also be more Smurfs. In September, there will be a few vehicles, more people, horse eventing sets, and elf things.
This is the way horses are: your horse is the "new kid", the lowest in the pasture's pecking order. The gender make up of the pasture has an effect too, as does the gender of your horse; but they will all eventually work it out, it's a natural part of their world and they know how to handle it.
Quarter horses are named that because they can run a Quarter of a mile really fast. They had races in the old days for a quarter of a mile and they would use Quarter horses for them. Now Quarter Horses aren't as popular for racing, because Thoroughbreds have better stamina.
Phar Lap was a pure bred Thoroughbred gelding from Australia and New Zealand. He did not have any Quarter Horse breeding in him whatsoever. Though, many Quarter Horses have Thoroughbred in the lineage. Phar Lap was a tall, athletic, chestnut race horse that had a very large heart and great courage. in order for a horse to race it must have pure thoroughbed bloodlines. pharlap had no quarterhorse in him

New England Quarter was created in 2008.
If he is a registered Quarter Horse the custom is to take part of one or both of the parents registered names, add something new and there you go. This way it is easy to keep track of a horse's bloodlines just by hearing his name.
This is a matter of opinion. You would have to go out and look at a few horses of each breed, maybe ride them if you can and see what you like better. And also, you need to decide what you want in a horse. Arabs have great stamina, but Quarter horses are the fastest horses in the world, being clocked at 55 mph, but only over short distances. Also, Arabians are the most popular breed in the world, followed by Quarter horses in second. but, in America, Quarter horses are the most popular. Quarter horses are a more common western mount than Arabians are. And as a general rule, Quarter horses are calmer and more dependable, while Arabians are very high-spirited. HOWEVER, there are exceptions to every rule, and you will find some very excitable Quarter horses and some very calm Arabians.

As the name implies, The American Quarter Horse (AQHA) had it's origins in the United States. To settle the western states, a tough, smart, agile and quick horse was needed. It had to be sturdy, healthy and docile, with an instinct with herding cattle, which was a vital element for the pioneers and ranchers of the 18th and 19th centuries. The Quarter Horse breed was derived from four foundation stallions, which were Leo, King P235, Whimpy, and Three Bars (JC)*. The King Ranch in Texas was a major contributor to the breed's begining, and in 1945 the AQHA was organized and began registering Quarter Horses. In 1965 a new breed was started for Quarter Horses that were born with excessive white markings. Texas is also the home for this breed now known as The American Paint Horse (APHA). The AQHA is now the largest horse breed registry in the world, with over a million registered horses. Today's Quarter Horses still work with cattle and much more. You can find them in hunter attire jumping fences, pulling buggies and teaching disabled children how liberating it is to ride.
