On Holy Thursday Jesus ate the Last Supper with his disciples ( took the bread and said it was His Body and took the wine and said it was His Blood.) He also washed his apostles feet. He then went to pray in the garden of Gethsemane where He asked His Heavenly Father that the cup of suffering might pass Him by only if it was His Father's Will.

Roman Catholic AnswerIn doing all of the above, Jesus instituted the Eucharist, the Sacrifice of the Mass, and the sacrament of the priesthood. Also, since the days of the early Church, the Bishop blesses the Holy Oils at the Christ Mass in the morning of Holy Thursday.

Jesus began the evening by having the Last Supper where he transformed bread into His Holy Body and wine into His Most Precious Blood. Afterwards, he prayed for the forgiveness of sins everywhere in the garden of Gethsemane. Meanwhile, Judas Iscariot, knowing where Jesus was, betrayed him to the chief priests who were looking to arrest him. When the soldiers of the temple showed up, there was a minor battle in which one of the soldiers had his ear sliced off. Jesus healed his ear and went with his captors to the chief priests. They interrogated him and during the conversation they perceived him to blaspheme God, which was a crime punishable by death. They locked him up and the next morning had Pontius Pilate determine his fate.

Roman Catholic AnswerOn Holy Thursday, the night before His Crucifixion, Jesus instituted the Eucharist, the Sacrifice of the Mass, and the sacrament of the priesthood; all at the Last Supper. In addition to this, according to John's Gospel Jesus did to other remarkable things. First, he profoundly demonstrated to his disciples that real leadership involves humility and service. To show this, he washed his disciples' feet - a task normally reserved for the lowest of slaves - and commanded them to serve one another humbly.
