What were Leonardo da Vinci's achievements?

Leonardo was one of the three greatest artists of High Renaissance (the other two being Michelangelo and Raphael). He developed pictural composition to achieve a more natural look as well as stability. He was an inquisitive and inventive scholar and scientist: he studied human and animal anatomy, the flight of birds, waves, motions in the air. He invented more terrible weapons, how to make a bigger bronze statue than ever before, how to span a bridge across the Bosporus....... etc, etc. All this can be found in his sketchbooks, and most of his inventions went no further. Among the sketches there are a parachute and a "helicopter". The list could be much longer, but in short he was the best representativ eof the idea of a Renaissance man, one who mastered everything. . Leonardo da Vinci's contributions to art show not only in his early works and masterpieces, but also in his many writings. Da Vinci's Early works show that he had potential to be a great artist. His first major work was " the Baptism of Christ', which he worked on with his mentor Andrea del Verrocchio. His first individual work was the "annunciation" which shows when Gabriel told Mary she would bare the Child of god. His "Benois Madonna" is considered his best portrayal of the virgin and child, which he made in his time employed at Verrocchio's workshop. One other famous early work is his "portrait of Ginevra di Benci" famous for her close proximity to the vegetation behid her. Da Vinci created many works of art that are considered masterpieces. The most famous of these are his "portrait of Lisa del Giocondo" ("Mona Lisa") and the "Last Supper." The last supper was painted from 1495-1497 when he was in Milan for the first time. It is famous for two main reasons, Judas, the traitor of Christ, is positioned behind the table, unlike any other portrayal of the last supper, and how much John, sitting next o Jesus, looks like a woman. The "Mona Lisa" was made from 1503-1506, in Rome. It is one of the most famous works of art in the world today. Many people wonder who she is and why she is smiling. These paintings are not just important because of the aspects of hem but how Da Vinci makes them look so life like and there facial expressions show his deep knowledge of human anatomy. Leonardo da Vinci is not only a wonderful and amazing painter, but made many studies and advance in arts. He spent much of his time writing his trattato dipitura(treatise on painting) and of the affects of light and shade. The techniques he created and analyzed are some of the most important parts for making a painting look realistic. The most important techniques he designed are called sfumato and chiaroscuro . They both have to deal with using shades of light and dark colors. Chiarscuro is the effect of shading people and faces to show expression and movement. Sfumato deals with using shadows and proportions to show the location of a figure in the background. In Da Vinci's designs for "Gran Cavallo" he creates entirely new ways of casting so that the hors will be able to stand upright. In this his artistic designs show his abilities in engineering. Leonardo da Vinci was employed as an engineer, invented machines and made designs for every thing he could think of. In Milan Leonardo was first employed as an artist, but worked as a military engineer as well. The Milanese Sforza court needed the talent of Da Vinci to supply advance defenses for their war with their neighboring city-state of Venice. Along with working on the "last supper and the equestrian horse Leonardo devised plans for mortars, battering rams, scaling ladders halberds and any number of other defenses. Da Vinci made sure to make more defensive weapons because he was a pacifist in the highest regard. Da Vinci had so many ideas and designs hat most of them were never realized. The most shocking thing about his designs the variety. He creates any thing from hydraulic pumps to machines for creating ropes. He uses complex systems of gears in most of his designs and is very creative in how something is to be composed. Many of his designs are similar to inventors before him such as Mariano Taccolo and Francesco di Giorgo Martini. Da Vinci's interest in inventing and engineering sustained throughout his whole life, always being flooded with unique ideas. Da Vinci's studies on engineering were not as systematic as many of his other studies, such as those of anatomy and botany. The reason for this may be related to the lack of detail in his diagrams of his designs. He may felt that these topics were already being studied much more than his other studies. The notebooks of his engineering diagrams are mainly the drawings themselves only a few of them have notations that briefly describe the machine drawn. In his anatomical studies Da Vinci is much more systematic and detail. Leonardo da Vinci was one of the greatest anatomists of his time and was unrecognized for it in his life time. He performed many dissections, faced many challenges and kept track of these in his notebooks. When Da Vinci performed his dissections he was only allowed to perform them on criminals, very rarely people who died of natural causes. He had to work quickly and under horrible conditions. The bodies could not be preserved or frozen, not for obstruction of the bodies, but plainly because the technology for this did not exist. All other people who were near when he was performing an autopsy or dissection could not bear the stench of the rotting corpses. Da Vinci was entirely oblivious to any smell that here was, showing his obvious devotion. He made sure to be extremely careful and deliberate while performing a dissection, knowing exactly what he was looking for and removing pieces of flesh from the body so he could analyze a specific system or organ. Also showing his devotion, he would perform two dissections for one part of the body so he could note the differences so his result would be the most accurate it could possibly be. The public never approved of Da Vinci's anatomical dissections. Since the world of the renaissance revolved around the church and the ideas of the church people were entirely disgusted that Da Vinci could sustain taking apart a human body and not care for it. When Da Vinci went to the court in 1513 he was working very hard on his anatomical studies. When the pope found out that he was performing human dissections he considered it to be heresy and banned him from all dissections and autopsies, also the popes decision got him thrown out of the painters' guild. These things contributed to Da Vinci's depression when he was in Rome. Answer 2: A few paintings and drawings. Apart from these he made very many sketches (collected in sketchbooks of which a few still exist). The sketches show him as a curious and intelligent scientist and scolar. He designed bridges, new weapons, a parachute, a giant sculpture of the Duke of Milan on horseback, etc. None of these were ever executed.

What is the name of the hat the tf2 scout wears?

The Scout, in the PC game Team Fortress 2, has a total of 5 hats which he can wear. - Normally, the Scout wears a baseball cap with an earpiece. This hat is nameless in-game, though Valve may have an unofficial name for it. - After a special Halloween event, it was possible for all classes to wear a hat called the Ghastly Gibus; this hat resembles a ragged, worn top hat. It can be obtained by dominating another player in-game who is wearing the Gibus. - The Batter's Helmet is obtainable through the random drop generator. It is a baseball batting helmet in the color of the team of choice. - The Bonk Helmet is similar to the Batter's Helmet, but without the cover over the ears. It is also team-colored. This hat is connected to two cans of Bonk! Atomic Punch, an item the Scout can use in-game; note -- this hat does not correlate to the effects of using Bonk. It can also be found via random drops. - The Scout's last hat is called Ye Olde Baker Boy, similar to an old style cabbie hat; think of a newspaper boy. The hat is brown in color, and can be found via random drops. The final 3 hats can also be crafted using the Item Crafting tool.
