Either Some ones TV stops working or America will Nuke China because they think the shot down their satellite. Whatever happens it will result in the end of the world, one way by radiation, the other by boredom.

If they're currently in use by a group who has the money to fix them, a shuttle goes up and they fix them.
If the satellite isn't repaired, gradually gravity takes its course and the orbit breaks down. It falls into the atmosphere and burns up. Until it does fall though, it's yet another piece of space debris traveling at insanely fast speeds around the earth

∙ 13y agoThe Earth's rotation has no effect on the orbit of satellites, however, if the Earth were to stop rotating, catastrophic changes will occur, and it is possible that the Earth would self destruct, and that would affect the satellite.

∙ 10y agoA satellite could not stop in orbit because the orbit is caused by the planet not the satellite. If the planet were to suddenly disappear (which it couldn't) then the loss of inertia would fling the satellite into another star's orbit. The satellite would be moving very fast though, so it would probably burn up when it was flung.
