Depends on your symptoms and cause, Anything other than just being depressed, like feeling blue, you had a bad day at work, some days nothing goes right, etc., long term depression is a serious condition and needs to be diagnosed by a medical doctor.

Depression means you don't have interest in anything. I am depressed because I moved to Indiana in November 2009. I went to a new school where EVERYTHING was different. I am severely allergic to nuts, and my old school (Heaven on Earth) was peanut-free. This school, however had peanut butter on the school lunch menu. and I am an actually smart person (straight A's, 98%-100% on every test) and everyone here has no brain whatsoever. they're all interested in makeup, cheer leading, boyfriends, and all that crap. It was all so different. and on top of all of that, my teacher, yelled at us for know apparent reason. I have had so much anger trapped in my body, I just wanted to run up to him and knock him out cold. But obviously I didn't. He and all of the little b*tchy cliques finally made me depressed because I had no friends, and they told me they were better than me. So when you're depressed, figure out why. Go up to your mirror and do this.

Tell your self this;

I am good enough, I am smart enough, I am pretty enough, I can do anything.

That's what I do, and I am felling a little better, but mostly, I just want to crawl in a trash disposal and switch it on.
