Kmart as we know is a big store and they have layaway, having the policy will change depending on area. In New York Kmart layaway is only for 8 weeks and includes a service and cancellation fee.
Kmart does have layaway, but you would have to pay a little each week until christmas.
Starting this year 2011 walmart is bringing back layaway in oct and ending before christmas. The day after thanksgiving items (Blitz day), will not be allowed to be put on layaway.
Yes you can the restrictions at Kmart are for clearence items. They do charge a small fee for putting items on layaway. Some stores have longer layaway periods than others so be sure to get the details for your store.
Yes, you can put cell phones in Walmart layaway, but availability may vary by location and specific store policies. Typically, layaway is offered for select items, and electronics, including cell phones, may be included. It's best to check with your local Walmart for their current layaway options and any specific terms that apply.
Walmart is having the associates promote the walmart credit card instead. They are saying look, you can take it home and pay on it that way. I work for walmart and most people would rather use layaway and avoid the fees, including me, LOL> There were people who abused layaway, by putting an item on layaway, and then asking for extensions to see how much they might get marked down during seasonal times of the year. wwamanager@yahoo.com
The best place would be at KMarts site itself. Try to find a category about layaway and see if it answers your question. Stores usually have a spot on the website about layaway.
Only BIG kmarts. Literally they have a sign that says BIG.
Yes. Marshalls does have a layaway plan. Marshalls will hold layaway items for up to thirty days with a minimum payment of $10 or 10%, whichever is greater, and a $5 non-refundable create fee. (Minimum payment amounts and create fees may vary by state.) The entire layaway must be picked up or canceled within the 30 day period. A $5 cancellation fee will be applied (in most states) when a layaway is cancelled. Please note that jewelry, items that have been marked down, food items and furniture cannot be placed on layaway. In addition, other restrictions may apply. Just a word of caution. THIS POLICY IS STRICTLY ENFORCED and OFFERS NO GRACE. I had a layaway that I had paid on EVERY week. Even made an additional payment 3 days before the final due date. Well, I got sick on the due date and consequently did not think about the layaway. I went to pick the layaway up the very next day. Even though I had made consistent and very recent payments and was only ONE day late, Marshalls had cancelled my layway. That was the policy. Its great Marshalls has the layaway option, but please note...there is ZERO grace period in that policy.
Sears
If you forget to pay your layaway at Kmart, the items in your layaway may be returned to stock after a certain period, and you could lose your deposit. It's important to check Kmart's layaway policy for specific timelines and fees related to missed payments. If you realize the oversight in time, you can attempt to make the payment and reclaim your items, but this may vary by location. Contacting the store directly can provide clarity on your specific situation.
As of my last update, Kmart's layaway policy may vary by location and product availability. Generally, layaway options are offered for certain items, but it's best to check with your local Kmart for their specific policies regarding electronics like an iPod. You can also inquire about any promotional offers or financing options they may have.
NO, they do NOT

Does you guys do extensions on layaway?
No, PetSmart does not offer any type of layaway plans.
Some stores do, check out your stores policy. Walmart does, as does Kmart, Sears, and Toys R Us. Oh, and Best Buy does as well.
Sorry. Sam's Club does not have layaway.
