If you consider sports part of entertainment than Joust Tournaments were a huge part of the Renaissance time period. Tons of Europe citizens gathered at fairs and social gatherings to see jousting occur.

The arts were improving. Politically, cities were often ruled by the richest families. It was the best time to be an artist because everyone wanted to buy a painting. Art at the time showed wealth and class. People were divided into 3 groups: those who fight, who pray and who work. Those who pray were on the top of the social class. Those who work were the peasants.

The new middle class in the Renaissance had characteristics such as being urban-dwelling, educated, involved in trade or skilled professions, financially independent, aspiring for social mobility, and supportive of humanist ideas. They played a key role in the economic and cultural development of society during this period.
Canada's social systems are the product of a developed post-industrial country with a mature democracy. Europe during the Renaissance were rudimentary at best and "social systems" poorly developed, if developed at all.
