A violin is a stringed, wooden musical instrument. It is played by tucking one end under the chin, and drawing a bow of wood and horsehair (though, I believe, other materials are used nowadays in place of horse hair) across the strings. By placing finger tips along the arm of the violin, the different musical notes are produced.
