What is abstract drawing?

The term abstract refers to an artist making an abstraction of something in the real world. Often people confuse abstract with non-representational art (an image that is not representative of anything in the real world). The most recognized are works by Picasso, but there are other methods of creating abstract images. Art comes in many mediums, drawing is only one.

The artistic term of abstract means to exaggerate or distort an object to the degree of capturing the essence while simplifying the content of the abstraction, in other words changing the shape to the degree of modification to deliver an over existence of truth to the natural shape being abstracted.

Abstract means to do something unusual. when i was younger, i had to create a picture of different shapes, but i wasn't allowed to take my pencil off of the page. Then i coloured in the white shapes with any colours i wanted :)
