∙ 14y agoRheumatic fever and RA do have a connection in so far as they are both inflammatory illnesses that can involve organs such as the heart, joints, skin, and brain and they are both diseases that involve the immune system. However they are not the same disease. Rheumatic fever can Be the result of an infection causing immune system malfunction which more often happens in people under the age of 15. while RA tends to happen largely in women over the age of 30 and often seems to involve genetic factors.

Rheumatoid arthritis is an Autoimmune disease in which inflammation can destroy joints and tissue in many other parts and organs of the body, the cause is not known however there is often a genetic connection.
