God intended that pregnancy occur within the bond of marriage between a man and a woman -- who are married to each other. God commissioned the human race in Genesis by the proclamation that Adam and Eve were to multiply and replenish the earth. Furthermore, according to The Bible, pregnancy is to occur between the man and a woman who are married to each other.

If the married couple is having a problem getting pregnant and artificial insemination is recommended by a doctor, then it is acceptable under the condition that, only the sperm and egg of the married couple are involved.

As long as both the egg in the sperm are from the same married couple, then I can see no problem with this process. After all, both the egg in the sperm belonged to the married couple and there is no intrusion of seed from outside that marriage bond. If the married couple accepts the sperm from another man (a man outside of the marriage bond with that woman), then she is inviting the intrusion of another man's seed into herself. This is an adulterous occurrence.

Christian marriage is a covenant between the husband and wife with God and people as witnesses. This covenant is taken seriously by the Lord. It should also be taken seriously by the couple. God knows all situations and circumstances and is in complete control. If a Christian couple cannot get pregnant and if the only way the wife can get pregnant is through the donation of sperm from a man outside of the marriage bond, then it is best to avoid that pregnancy. Otherwise, the couple is inviting into the woman's body the seed of another man -- which is adultery. It is better that if the couple desires to have children, they should adopt. This prevention of pregnancy could be a means by which the Lord arranges for couples to adopt, thereby, taking care of other children.

Objections Some claim that using another man's sperm to impregnate a woman is not morally wrong because there is no physical act of adultery involved and there is no intent of it adultery. Also, if the husband agrees, then how could the impregnation be adulterous? We must be very careful to not let situational ethics govern biblical principles. God has ordained that husband and wife, a married couple, be the bearers of children within that covenantal bond of marriage. Whether or not the physical act of adultery has occurred or not does not excuse the fact that the sperm of another man has entered the body of a woman to whom he is not married.

Is sex necessary to produce children?

Yes.Another View: The physical act of sexual intercourse is NOT necessary. Only that the human egg be fertilized by a human sperm. This is an act which can be duplicated by means of artificial insemination and does not require a sex act to do it.

Why would someone use artificial insemination?

A woman is given fertility drugs to help her body produce several eggs at once, rather than the usual one per month. When a sufficient number of eggs have ripened they are extracted from her body with a long puncture needle, and kept at a laboritory. The man then hands in a dose of semen (obtained from masturbation) which is 'worked up' to have only the most mobile (quickest) sperm cells remain. The eggs and sperm are then put together in a test tube, in order to find each other more easily as they would inside a woman's body. If one or more eggs are successfully fertilised one or two (usually not more, in view of medical risks) will be put back into the woman's body in hopes that they might nestle there resulting in pregnancy. Success rate of IVF is roughly 20%-25%.

How is the monotheistic view from Sikhs shown in their worshipping?

The beginning of Sikh Scripture is not an alphabet or word but a figure which is "1".And so on the whole of Sikh Gurus and Sikh Bhagats teachings emphasize only on the worship of One God who has created the universe, is sustaining it and will destroy it too.Worship is of One God alone, through out the scripture the Sikh Gurus and Sikh Bhagats have used different names and also the ways to relating with God but the oneness of God is throughout maintained. For Sikhs God is Formless without any shape, size, color, who is imminent in his/her creation but at the same time transcendtal.

When is a kangha used?

Well, The Kangha is a wooden comb used by Sikh's only twice a day to keep the hair clean and tidy. The Kangha is part of the five signs of a Sikh. It is one of the 5 k's which include the Kangha, Kirpan, Kaccha, Kesh and the Kara. Being clean is a huge thing to Sikh's and was emphasised by a Guru named Gobind Singh when he formed the Khalsa. Sikh's hair being clean and knot free is so big to them because they view it as it should represent their life, tidy and organized. Sikh's wash their hair very early every morning, then right after they comb it, and then is put into a topknot. After the hair is put into a topknot, they put the Kangha into the topknot then cover it with a turban. If the Sikh's are not using the comb, it must always be in their hair. The dimensions of a modern comb that they were is usually that it is 7.5cm tall, the width is 5cm and the depth is 0.9 cm.
