Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid Arthritis are different diseases. however they do have one thing in common in all cases and that is pain for which analgesics are used. osteo arthritis is a disease of wear and tear of the bone and joints and inflammation can also happen as opposed to RA being an autoimmune disease where the damage to joints is caused by the inflammation. so anti inflamatorys may be used in both diseases. I the case of Ra disease modifying drugs such as methatrexate is also used to suppress the activity of the imune system.
