What is the best type of paint for a canvas awning?

I paint on canvases often, and I prefer using Acrylic. Watercolor or other oils work fine also, but it depends on what kind of things you like to paint. Trees, Water, or other landscapes are best done with Oils/Watercolors. Birds, Houses, or still-art is best with Acrylic.

Canvas is an excellent ground for most paints, particularly the stretched canvases made specifically for painting on. Oils, (both the traditional and the newer water clean-up type) and acrylics are the most commonly used. Application again varies. Brushes (of all sizes and configurations), palette knives, airbrushes, even an artists hands can be used to apply the paint.
