I paint on canvases often, and I prefer using Acrylic. Watercolor or other oils work fine also, but it depends on what kind of things you like to paint. Trees, Water, or other landscapes are best done with Oils/Watercolors. Birds, Houses, or still-art is best with Acrylic.
