PO 300 is a random/ multiple cylinder misfire. Normally caused by a faulty coil, distributor cap, rotor or plug wires. recommend removing the distributor cap and inspecting the rotor tip. probably time for a complete tune up and replace all the ignition parts.
Side Note:Saturn's use a "coil pack" and as such do not have a distributor.Isuzu uses the spark plug as a sensor of the burn efficiency inside the cylinder of the engine. Use of the wrong brand plug can cause this misfire code in a good running engine. Otherwise perform tune up to repair misfire
Most commonly a bad plug or wire. If not that, then coil.
Depending on where a person lives and where they have the repair done, the labor for replacing the starter on a 2000 Saturn SL2 will cost between $186 and $238. The cost for the parts will be $149 to $261 plus tax.
'97 sunfire axle nut is 195 ft-lbs. Should be the same for Saturn
Yes, it sure does. The only vehicle that does not have spark plugs are vehicles with diesel engines.
Trouble code P0300 means: Random/multiple cylinder misfire detected
Random misfire, cylinder 2 misfire, and cylinder 3 misfire. see related question below.
P0300 - Random Misfire . P0300 indicates multiple cylinders are misfiring or the PCM cannot identify which cylinder is misfiring .
Trouble code P0300 means:Multiple cylinder misfire detected Trouble code P1320 means:Ignition signal primary circuit fault
Start by replacing the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor
Have you tried wires, coils or injectors?? Depending on the mileage, a compression check may be in order also. P0300 is random misfire.. P0301 refers to cylinder #1 misfire and P0306 refers to cylinder #6 misfire. Try the simple things like wires 1st... after the compression check.
i there a switch on a saturn that would cause it not to start Yes the neutral safety switch.
Many things can cause any vehicle to misfire. example...lack of spark, lack of fuel, lack of air, or to much of any of the previous things.
Code P0304 on 2000 Ford Ranger is: Misfire at cylinder 4 detected. May be cause by a bad spark plug.
What causes misfire 302, 304 and 306
A bad EGR valve in a 2000 Saturn can have several symptoms. The EGR valve can cause misfires, the valve can cause vacuum leak style problems. There could also be an engine knock.
Multiple problems could cause a vehicle engine to lose power, including, but not limited to: Cylinder misfire, because of fouled spark plugs, damaged valves or a failed injector. Dirty air cleaner. Fouled fuel filter. Failed EGR valve. Faulty ignition system. To name but a few.
