For starters, Nyx was a Titan and Artemis was an Olympian. So most likely they would have been enemies. Secondly, Nyx was the mother of a lot of terrible monsters. Nyx was the goddess of night and the moon in the Titan times but was overthrown along with the rest of her family when the Olympians took over.
