Yes there is. A pony is shorter than a horse and is somtimes mistaken for a child horse. That and MANY other reasons is why there is no difference between a quarter horse and a quarter pony. Look it up. It's not rocket science.
Yes. There is a difference between every breed of horse. A Thoroughbred horse tends to be around 16 hands high and its ancestry can be traced back to the Arabian horse. The characteristics of a Thoroughbred include tall, slender frame, good for racing, a great lung capacity and strong competitive spirit. A Quarter Horse is often short and stocky and is named after the quarter mile race that it was bred for. Their propensity as sprinters is tested at tracks nation wide. The Quarter horse is a mix of mostly Thoroughbred, Barb, Mustang, Arab.
Well, first of they are completely different breeds. The quarter horse is rather stocky and has medium size legs, TBs are lean and have long skinny legs, which is why they are used for racing.
Thoroughbreds were created hundreds of years ago from 'Turk' (Akhal-Teke), Barb and Arabian stock crossed on British running mares that were of native bloodlines. The Thoroughbred is a 'hotblood' type of horse that is the worlds premier racehorse capable of racing at speeds of 35 to nearly 50 mph over distances of 1/2 to 3 miles. They are tall, long legged, and lanky with smoother muscling. Quarter horses were created by crossing Thoroughbreds onto mustang and crossbred stock that was used for racing in the early colonial US. The Quarter horse can sprint at speeds of 40 to 55 mph over a 1/4 mile. They also have Iberian bloodlines in them which gave them an ability to work with cattle naturally. They tend to be smaller, stocky, and have bulky muscles.
The word thoroughbred is often used interchangably with the word purebred, however, Thoroughbred is a breed in it's own right.
Thoroughbreds can be used to produce appendix quarter horses when bred to AQHA registered horses.
its how thay walk and run gallop jog its all different just watch how the horse walks and jogs runs gallop you will see
A quarter horse is stock breed that was bred to race the 1/4 mile. A saddlebred is a gaited, more refined horse.
Height, a horse is larger then a pony, Usually ponys are 13 hands and smaller from the shoulder to the ground, horses are 13 hands and up from shoulder to ground.
Both are different breeds of horses.
Thoroughbred
A quarter horse is one that is registered with the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) or other similar registries (Australian Quarter Horse Association, for example), as having two registered quarter horse parents. The AQHA recognizes the offsrping of a quarter horse and a Thoroughbred (registered with the Jockey Club) by registering them in their "Appendix" registry. A foal born as a result of the mating of a quarter horse and a thoroughbred is referred to as an "appendix" or an "appendix quarter horse." An appendix quarter horse can attain regular registry status by earning 10 or more points in AQHA shows and races.
When you cross a quarter horse and a thoroughbred, you will get an appendix quarter horse. The paint may or may not come out in the foal. That is all in the genetics, and I would need more info to tell you that.
Appendix.
Quarter Horse
I actually made up this breed. It is a cross between a Thoroughbred and a Quarter Horse.
A Jennet and a thoroughbred made a quarter horse!!

The obvious answer to that would be a Quarter horse.

The Thoroughbred was used in the developement of the Quarter Horse and it is still a big influence in the Quarter Horse industry today. If asked, most people know about the Thoroughbred as the world's fastest breed. But only for long distances. The Quarter Horse is faster than the Thoroughbred for short distances, such as a quarter mile race. Think of the Thoroughbred as a long distance runner as compared to a sprinter, the QH.
Appendix.
No Secretariat was a Thoroughbred. A much older breed that help to develop the quarter horse.
For long distance its between the Thoroughbred and the Mustang but in a quarter mile its the American Quarter Horse (that's whay its their name)
probably either a quarter horse or thoroughbred
At a quarter mile or less, the Quarter Horse. Above that distance, the Thoroughbred.
