The difference between the two versions is which pokémon you can catch, like all Pokémon games.
Edit: There is also a difference between Lugia and Ho-Oh.
In SoulSilver, Lugia is the Pokemon you catch after you beat the eighth gym leader and the kimono girls and will be at level 45 with these attacks: Extrasensory, AeroBlast, Rain Dance, and Hydro Pump.
Ho-Oh can be caught after you get the rainbow wing in Pewter City (Kanto) and go to the Bell Tower. It will be at level 70 and have these attacks: Sacred Fire, Punishment, AncientPower, and Safeguard.
In HeartGold, it is the exact opposite. You will catch Ho-Oh after beating the last gym leader and kimono girls. It will be at level 45 and have these attacks: Extrasensory, Sunny Day, Fire Blast, and Sacred Fire. Lugia can be caught when you get the silver feather in Pewter City and go to the Whirl Islands. It will be at level 70 and have these attacks: AeroBlast, Punishment, AncientPower, and Safeguard.
The game itself is essentially the same (same cities, towns, characters, etc.). There are only minor differences such as the Legendary Pokemon (Ho-oh or Lugia) and the Pokemon that can be found in the wild.
For Example:
You can catch a wild Meowth on route 38 in HeartGold, but on SoulSilver Meowth is not found anywhere in the wild.
BUT
To even this out; SoulSilver allows you to catch Mankey on route 38 whereas in HeartGold Mankey cannot be found.
Heart Gold=Ho-oh lv.45 ,moltres lv.50, zapdos lv.50,articuno lv.50,entei lv.40,raiku lv.40,suicune lv.40,mewtwo lv.70,kyogre lv.50,rayquayza lv.70,latias lv.35.

Soul Silver=Lugia lv.45,moltres lv.50, zapdos lv.50,articuno lv.50,entei lv.40,raiku lv.40,suicune lv.40,mewtwo lv.70,groudon lv.50,rayquayza lv.70,latios lv.35.
There is different Pokemon that appear in the 2 games. And in HeartGold Ho-oh is lv.45 and Lugia is lv.70. It is opposite for SoulSilver.
On Heartgold and Soulsilver versions, the ice path is located right outside of route 44. After you defeat the trainer next to the cave entrance, you can go inside.
You don't need a stone in order to get an Umbreon in Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver but what you do need in order to get an Umbreon in HeartGold and SoulSilver is an Eeevee and then you have to level it up until it has a high amount of happiness and then evolve it at night which is any time between 8 PM and 4 AM in-game. 0----->> You don't actually have to lvl up a Pokemon to get happiness you can just walk with it in your party or put a sooth bell on it and walk with it in your party . A haircut Is nice also upping its stats with stat potions. If you can get it happy with you with out lvling you can have a Umbreon @ lvl2 and since it starts getting Umbreon attacks (instead of Eevee attack) at lvl 15 you want that critter happy with you BEFORE then. What I would do is get Eevee and then breed it with Ditto and get several lvl1 Eevees and then make them happy with you for Espeon and Umbreon and just use stones on the rest for the other Eevelutions, not sure thought how to get the new ones from DPP though haven't researched that yet. Probably just trade.
The two words are not similar in any way. Ash is a type of wood used in bows and some furnitures. Red is a color. If you are talking about Pokemon then red is more serious, beat team rocket, beat the Pokemon league in one try, and his Pokemon team is different. Ash is more care free, can't beat the Pokemon league in one try, has different team, and goes to different regions. I hope this helped :)
You can't transfer any Pokemon that does know moves like Cut or that from GBA , but you can get anyother Pokemon from it. You just can't send them back. Choose them wisely.
Wht is the difference between Lanthanides and Actinides?
I mean…do you want Pokemon HeartGold? The difference between HeartGold and SoulSilver is that you catch Lugia in SoulSilver and Ho-Oh in HeartGold. Other than that they’re the same thing. You need a DS, DS Lite, or 3DS to play it though. It’s not playable on any other console.
There both the same, just some Pokemon appear more in Soulsilver than in Heartgold, same with Heartgold to Soulsilver. Also, Lugia, in Soulsilver, is level 45 when you find it, but in Heartgold you find him level 70, in Soulsilver Ho-oh is 70, but in Heartgold, he is 45. There is VERY little difference's between the two games. Also, not to be mean, but you spelled silver in Soulsilver wrong.
um u get 2 ds and u trade
of course you can
A Pokewalker works with both the Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver. There is no difference between the Pokewalkers given out with both versions.
The differences are the pokemon that appear and the rate at which they appear. In fact there quite a number of pokemon exclusive between each game, so trading is needed to get these pokemon. This is actually said on th original casing of the game, too, in a similar way.
up to you heartgold has ho-ho (fire). soulsilver has forgotten the name (wind)
Yes Pokemon can be TRADED from platinum in the same way you traded Pokemon between other games!Wireless or Through the GTS^_^
in digletts tunnel any day between 12:00 and 16:00
Pokemon soul silver is better then Pokemon heart gold - Well I can't say, because I've only played soulsilver. Soulsilver is AWESOME. Just so you know :D But I have a lot of Pokemon-obsessed friends who've played both, and most of them say soulsilver is better. But they're basically the same game (with a slightly different plot), except in Soulsilver, the main legendary Pokemon is Lugia, and in Heartgold it's Ho-oh. So, which do you like better, Lugia or Ho-oh? Or if you can find a large price difference I'd buy the cheaper one, but I think they cost about the same. Anyways I would go with soulsilver, but they're basically the same so it really doesn't matter. PS: you can get it with or without the pokewalker- I would definitely get it with the pokewalker
The girl who will groom your Pokémon in Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver is Daisy and she's in Blue's house in Pallet Town. She'll groom 1 of your Pokémon daily any time between 3 PM and 4 PM.
(This is for both Heartgold and Soulsilver) You must beat Red at the top of Mt. Silver, then go to Mr. Pokemon's house (Between Violet City and Cherrygrove City) and he will give you the Blue orb/Red orb depending what game you have.
