What is the difference between schimmel konzert and schimmel classic pianos?

The Konzert Schimmel pianos feature the latest and greatest CAPE technologies in soundboard geometry, scale design, and construction. There are two "trilogies" within the Konzert line. The first consists of 5'7", 6'3" and 7' grand pianos--all three share the same action and treble scale design of the 7' model. The second consists of 7'6", 8'4", and 9'2" grand pianos--all three share the same action and treble scale design of the 9'2" model. The longer actions in the shorter models translates into better control for the professional player. All Konzert grand pianos feature an innovative tuneable duplex scale called "triplex" by Schimmel. Fazioli, Mason & Hamlin, and only a few other premium makers use this techonology. What triplex scaling does is allow the gifted technician the ablity to tune the harmonics produced by the duplex scale.

Now, the Classic series is a fine piano line; however, they lack the refinements discussed in the Konzert lineup. They are made in Braunschweig, Germany along with the Konzert models but receive less final prep. Also, the classic line features a standard duplex scale, old bridge designs, a narrower--yet still a wide tail-soundboard, and old scale desings. The action, while German, is not quite as responsive. If you are in the marker for a vertical (upright) piano, I would only suggest the Konzert line as the classic line uses niether stapled nor underfelted hammers. Schimmel's classic line is still an excellent value among the mass-produced Asian and often inferior Eastern Eurpopean pianos on the market today. I
