What is the function of a primer in a complete paint treatment?

You make sure your surface is clean and dry then roll the primer on. I prefer to use a heavy body primer like Kilz then I don't have to re-coat. One coat of a good primer does it all. Paying a little extra for a good primer can save you lots in the final paint.

∙ 13y agoThe function of a primer is to leave a base coating that has a better bond with most surfaces that most paints aren't designed to do. Leaving a surface that a particular paint/primer duo can successfully adhere to.
