The engine head is physically mounted on top of the engine block and is capped by the valve cover (which usually has the car manufacture's name on it). you can also find it by tracing the exhaust pipe to the engine. it does several major things:
1) it houses the valve assemblies for allowing intake of gas mixture and exhaust of combusted mixture
2) houses the spark plugs for combustion
2) will almost always house the cam shaft/s (unless its a push rod engine)
3) provide bearing surface for cam lifters
4) provide junctions for intake manifold and exhaust manifold
5) continues coolant route throughout the engine
hope this helps!
If that has the Northstar engine, there is many hours involved. The engine and trans must be dropped out from under the car along with the subframe.
Engines do not tolerate overheating. Often a head will warp slightly when the engine overheats and the head and/or engine block can even crack. Run a compression test on the engine. If you have a couple cylinders with low compression, the overheating has caused significant damage.
possible bad valve guides or blown head gasket possible bad valve guides or blown headgasket
what is the function of the head of the sewing machine
If it was a head gasket then the compresion would be low in the affected cylinders low compresion as a result of wear wil make the car hard to start and overheating can also lead to electrical problems, Besides blowing a head gasket, overheating can also cause a cylinder head ro crack. Low compression and engine not starting or hard to start are symptoms. As mentioned above, do not discard the possibility of electrical problems due to overheating. However, the prime suspects are blown head gasket and/or cracked cylinder head.
A cylinder head is made of cast iron or aluminum. It is on the top of your engine block and it helps support your car's function. The coolant passes through this and helps keep it from overheating from the engine block.
is it engine?
engine block, it's function is to carry the engine or where the cylinder head set, piston, it;s function is to compressed the air and fuel.
Cleaning, cooling, lubricating
Sure you CAN, but if you do continue to run an engine with a blown head gasket you will destroy the engine. Do not run any engine with a blown head gasket or you will be buying a new engine.
The head gasket creates a seal between the engine block/cylinder and the cylinder head. Since the pressures and temperatures are so great, the head gasket must be more substantial than other gaskets. It will also go bad much easier, especially if the engine overheats and the head warps, even a slight amount. It is placed in between the gas compression chamber .A head gasket is a gasket that sits between the engine block and cylinder head(s) in an internal combustion engine.
Inside of the engine head(s).
The engine most of the times.
Generally, engine problems such as a blown head gasket or warped head.
No. You can have the head gasket replaced. This is unless you kept driving the car with a blown head gasket and have totally destroyed the engine.
You have a blown head gasket or a cracked head. STOP driving this car immediately or you will do serious damage to the engine. It will need the gasket replaced and the head checked. You have a blown head gasket or a cracked head. STOP driving this car immediately or you will do serious damage to the engine. Along with the head gasket you often get warping of the head. Coolant will get mixed with the oil causing engine bearing and ring damage if the car was driven after the head gasket blew. If you continue to drive the car you will eventually ruin the engine.
