Yodeling is singing using varying pitch within extended notes, generally from high to low and back. In classic yodeling, this is usually accentuated by using a falsetto pitch (higher, throat register voice). "Yodel-ay-ee-oh" is the simple "calling" sound that gives yodeling its name.
