As distinct from waving: In liquid, the style of movement is akin to waving, with perhaps two critical differences. The critical differences I have noticed are the movement quality and the movement pathway. Quality. With waving, a dancer may give the illusion of turbulence, or reverb, or shaking, while passing movement sequentially through his/her joints. With liquid, the illusion of turbulence is removed, so motion may be wavelike, but not turbulent. Pathway. Also with waving, a dancer may pass energy from head to toe, for example, and then back from toe to head, or from one hand to the opposite hand via one arm, the chest, and the other arm. Sometimes the movement may seem to leave a dancer's body at the fingers, toes, or head, and appear to re-enter at the exit point, sequencing back through the same joints in a retrograde order. With liquid, there is sequencing of movement through joints, but the movement is more likely to appear to loop, or move in a circuit (as when movement is passed from hand to hand directly, or from hand to body directly). As opposed to going from end to end, or extremity to extremity, and appearing to leave the body, the movement, or appearance of energy, is contained within the body. The pathway of movement, in liquid, is eliptical, as opposed to linear, as it may be with waving.

The term "political realm" is used to describe the activities and concerns related to politics. "Realm" originally meant a kingdom or an area of land under the control of a specific ruler. "Political" has to do with how people compete for influence and power in governmental or social organizations. So a "political realm" would be the set of activities and discussions that are governed by politics, as opposed to other "realms" such as personal, economic, spiritual, etc.
