It is impossible to know. For perspective Facebook had 10 billion photos on it a few years ago, and it's only gotten more popular so it must have billions more now. Facebook is of course only a small fraction of the total number of pictures *taken*, so I'd estimate a few hundred billion.

It's really at the point where the number is just too large to truly comprehend.
