Are there valves in the pulmonary artery or the aorta.?

There are not valves in the pulmonary artery or the aorta. However there are valves between these and the heart. Between the right ventricle and the pulmonary artery there is a valve referred to as the pulmonary semilunar valve. Between the left ventricle and the aorta there is a valve called the aortic semilunar valve.

Right and left ventricles of the heart are separated by what artery?

The left side of the heart seperates the atrium and the ventricle by a bicuspid valve, it lets blood into the ventricle. It's a one way valve. When the blood wants to re-enter the the atrium it goes through a semi lunar vavle. The valve on the right side of your heart is called a tricuspid valve.

Heart valves found between the upper and lower chambers of the right and left sides of the heart?

Two are called the atrioventricular valves, they control blood flow from the two atria into the ventricles. The other two are called semi-lunar valves, which open and close at the openings of the arteries going from the heart to the body, they pretty much stop blood backflow into the heart.

Where are the valves of the heart located?

On my 1998 Buick the valve was located near the battery. Mine was damaged during a hurried winter battery change.

How do the letters AV indicate heart valve location?

The letters AV refer to the atrioventricular valves. There is one on each side of the heart between the atrial and venticular chambers. The one on the right side of the heart is called the right atrioventricular valve, or the ticuspid valve. The one on the left side of the heart is called the left atrioventricular valve, bicuspid valve, or mitral valve.

Where is plumanary valve?

The plumanary valve is the semilonar valve of the heart that lies between the right ventrical and the pulmonary artery and has three cusps

What is the valve between the chambers of the right side of the heart?

Right ventricle and pulmonary artery

What is located between the right ventricle and the pulmonary artery?

If you are referring to the valve that separates the left atrium from the left ventricle, it is called the mitral valve.

Where does the pulmonary valve lie between?

The right atrium and the left atrium. It actually lies between the right ventricle and the pulmonary artery, where it prevents the backflow of blood from the artery back into the heart during diastole (the resting period of the heartbeat)

One of two valves dividing the upper and lower chambers?

The upper chambers of the heart are called auricles/atria and the lower chambers of the heart are called ventricles. The valve between the left atrium and the left ventricle is called the Bicuspid valve/Mitral valve. The valve between the right atrium and the right ventricle is called the Tricuspid valve.

What is the purpose of the Pulmonary valve?

The pulmonary valve is the tricuspid valve between the right ventricle and the pulmonary artery. It prevents blood from flowing down the artery back into the right ventricle.

What is the function of the pulmonary valve?

The pulmonary valve (sometimes referred to as the pulmonic valve) is thesemilunar valve of the heart that lies between the right ventricle and the pulmonary artery and has three cusps. Similar to the aortic valve, the pulmonary valve opens in ventricular systole, when the pressure in the right ventricle rises above the pressure in the pulmonary artery. At the end of ventricular systole, when the pressure in the right ventricle falls rapidly, the pressure in the pulmonary artery will close the pulmonary valve. The closure of the pulmonary valve contributes the P2 component of the second heart sound (S2). The right heart is a low-pressure system, so the P2 component of the second heart sound is usually softer than the A2 component of the second heart sound. However, it is physiologically normal in some young people to hear both components separated during inhalation. The function are Prevents the back flow of blood as it is pumped from the right ventricle to the pulmonary artery.
