With a little bit of an artistic flare it is not difficult to decorate a Venetian mask. It may not be quite to the standards of an authentic Venetian one but it will be unique and all your own work. First you need to purchase a good quality base, Venetian ones are the best for shape and quality then needs to be sprayed your chosen colour. Acrylic spray on hobby paints are superb for this and can be purchased at most DIY stores. Ones this has dried its time to let your imagination run wild. Braid glued round the edge of the mask gives a nice finish (glue guns are great for this) and acrylic crystals add a bit of sparkle. Feathers are wonderful for female mask as are silk flowers. A good source for inspiration is to look at sites selling masquerade masks.
