It is advised to use water when trying to clean paint brushes which have acrylic paint on them either after the painting is finished or in between colors. If the paint is drying, it is also possible to use water to add moisture back into the paint while painting.

If the paint is still dry, soap and water will easily take it off. If the paint has dried, wash with soap and warm water. If this does not take the paint off, use a small amount of acetone and then repeat washing with soap and water.
