The Coronary Arteries receive blood during Diastole. While the heart is contracting, they are squeezed shut and little blood flows through them.
The coronary arteries are the blood vessels that nourish the heart. Even though blood goes through the heart, that blood is not the way that the muscle itself picks up nutrients and disposes of wastes.

During cardiac systole the left ventricle contracts, the semi lunar valves open and occlude the coronary arteries. During diastole the valves close and because of the elasticity of the aorta which has just been stretched blood now flows into the coronary arteries. The reason for this is that it is easier to supply blood to the cardiac muscle when it is relaxed.

The are the left and right coronary arteries, the left having a common trunk followed by the circumflex and anterior descending branches. Myocardium is a type of muscle tissue. The reason why the myocardium receives its blood from coronary arteries and not from the cardiac chambers is because the blood from the cardiac chambers does not contain oxygen and nutrients.

A coronary stent (or cardiac stent) is placed in arteries that supply blood to the heart. The stent is a tube that is designed to keep the arteries open to increase blood flow.
The heart muscle is supplied with oxygenated blood by the coronary arteries. Along with the oxygenated blood, the arteries also supplies the heart muscle with nutrient-filled blood.
