This would be a topographic map. In addition to the real features, commonly contour lines, place names, and spot heights are also added to make the map even more useful.
a physical map shows the land features, a political map shows boundaries and major city's, and thematic maps have a theme to them.
Google Maps, Yahoo! Maps and British Ordinance Survey maps use a mid-blue colour for all water features (rivers, streams, lakes and the sea).

Maps can show mountains, rivers, oceans, and lakes. Especially on a geography map, you can see tons of natural features.
Physical maps show natural features, such as landforms, bodies of water, and elevation. Political maps show human made or imaginary features, such as national boundaries or cities. Many maps have some of both.
Political maps show you the states and cities and countries. Physical maps show you the mountains and geographic features.

Maps show many things but, there are also different types of maps. For the common topographic map it shows elevation, Magnetic north, the year made and revised, the UTM section, and a scale of the map.
Geological maps show the distribution of geological features, such as rock types and faults. They are general overlaid with a base map, which is like a normal map, so as to help you understand where the features are located.
Historical maps show information about the past. A map of the 13 colonies, a map of the United States as it was in 1953, a map of a state's roadways in 1899, etc. would be historical maps.
