Just drink a glass of milk with each meal, to neutralize the acid,and before bed, but you can also take Gaviscon,but try to avoid if you can, as antacids cause constipation,making the heartburn worse, through straining on the loo.

For heartburn during pregnancy its recommended to chew some almonds.Jaggery is also a good remedy for it.

Also take one glass of cool water and add one/two teaspoons of honey in it and have.Its a great relief.

Or drink a glass of cool buttermilk.

All these are effective home remedies.

I was told by my OB Doctor the following meds are okay: Maalox, Mylanta, Tums, Rolaids or Riopan, Pepcid, Tagament or Zantac.
