Until third grade, Andy Warhol had a pretty much standard working-class kid's life. In third grade, however, he contracted Sydenham's chorea, a nervous system disease, known more commonly as St. Vitus' Dance. His father died in an accident when Warhol was 13. He finished high school, and then enrooled in college to study commercial art.
