He normally quotes his name as Bernard P. Fife, but never says what the P. is for. In one episode Barney and Andy are looking in a year book and it shows his name as Bernard Milton Fife (this is show inconsistency).

Oliver - this was revealed in the episode where Otis Campbell is recognized as the descendant of Nathaniel Tibbs - a Revolutionary War hero.

Actually his middle name is a bit of a mystery. It is true that the Nathan Tibbs episode revealed it to be Oliver, but in the Class Reunion episode the school yearbook calls him Bernard Milton Fife. Several other episodes call him Bernard P. Fife.
