The earliest painting by Van Gogh still in existence was painted in 1881. It is 'Still Life with Cabbage and Clogs'. Also his first recorded work of art is a drawing by the name of 'Road with Pollard Willows and Man with Broom' - 1881

It's difficult to say because as a teenager/young adult he worked for an art dealership and practiced painting himself, therefore it's definitely difficult to say what his first painting was, as he probably painted much when he was young. But, in 1882 at the age of 28 or 29 he was commissioned by his Uncle to create a painting(that proved dissatisfactory to his uncle), so this was his first paid work. But at the Van Gogh Museum of Amsterdam there is a work of his from the winter of 1881, "Still Life With Cabbage and Clogs". This is, therefore, one of his earliest paintings which are currently published or available, but as with most painters it's assumed that he painted much during his childhood.

It seems to be the 'Still Life with Cabbage and Clogs', painted late 1881.
