Cubism is 20th century form of art used by great artists such as Picasso and Barque. It was a hard time for artist, because the camera was the new big thing, which could capture pictures instantly unlike artist who would take hours to draw them. These artists needed to do something different, unique that a camera couldn't do. So they came up with Cubism art.
Cubism is about getting a picture or more than one picture and smash the picture, like when you break a mirror. With all of your picture pieces you can change the shape just a little bit and put the pieces together. Some pieces could overlap each other some can be smaller some can be bigger. Cubism is like abstract painting which inside the picture could be something but you kind of show your picture in a different way and that it looks like a beautiful piece of art in the end.
Cubism began in Paris, France in the early 20th Century. Pablo Picasso and another artist George Braque began to exchange ideas in 1907-1914. In 1915 Braque had to join the French Army during World War I and was severely injured. This was the end of their work together.

Cubism is not famous for being an activist art. Constructivism, Dada and other, could be debated, but to the best of my knowledge, excluding eventual personal opinions not representative of the movement as a whole, there is no historical relevance to the issue of political inclination within Cubism. Europe at the time of Cubism was a melting-pot of ideologies and many cubist painters were either strongly affiliated with anarcho-syndicalism or fierce nationalists. But that did not transpire in their paintings, usually a lot more concerned with experimentalism than with conveying a message (there wasn't even a public to speak of for such art), nor did it influence the scope of their activities. The outbreak of the First World War brought Cubism (and Futurism) to an end. That could be considered a result of political division within it's ranks, but it's hardly the cause.

The period of cubism continued until world war 1 (1914). It stopped after world war 1 because a author named John Golding, who is widely known for writing his book called the "cubism", stopped writing the past history and analysts (information) on cubism.
