After the Persians failed to bring peace to the eastern Mediterranean in the Persian Wars, Persia withdrew to leave the Greek cities to get back to their usual fighting between each other. Athens then turned the anti-Persian league it led into an empire of its own, and over-reached itself, bringing on a war with the Peloponnesian League led by Sparta. This 27-year war severely damaged the city-states of Greece. In the process Sparta had to turn to Persia for support, and then defeated Athens, stripping it of its empire. The weakened cities continued fighting amongst each other in varying alliances, and Thebes replaced Sparta as the leading power. All this fighting paved the way for the dominance of Macedonia.
The majority of Greeks lived sparse lives - there was no general oversupply of food and resources. However the Spartans had taken over the southern Peloponnese Peninsula, and the serf population it created kept up a good supply to the Spartan citizens. The Athenians got a great lift after the Persian War when they converted the Delian League of 180 cities it had led against the Persian Empire into an empire of its own and lived high on the proceeds. Each had their own source of exploitation of others.

They both had laws and also were both the two main cities of Greece. Sparta began as a monarchy and Athens began as an Aristocratic city-state, but both changed their governing bodies around 700 BC. They also each had slaves, though they were attained differently. Each trained their boys for battle, though Spartans did so much earlier in life. They were also both involved in major ancient Greek battles, as often as not, with each other! They treated slaves equally, and they were both city-states. There was a boy named Alexander the Great born in 776 B.C. in Macedonia. His brother's name was Mohammed Ahmedi Nezad, and his sister was Nazia Tabassum.
Spartans were not supposed to have money as Lycurgus (an ancient spartan who basically made all their rules) forebade it as money was the root of all EVIL... 0_0 ...according to him at least. :-P But the slaves(each male Spartan had two personal + number of them at home) were allowed to have money, and did all the buying for Spartans themselves. Also Periokoi were allowed to have money,so money did exist and was in use in Sparta.Only citizens-soldiers were not allowed to have or use any.
The Athenians and Spartans fought each other in what is referred to as the Peloponnesian War from 431 to 404 BC .
There were several - the principal on was the Peloponnesian War 431-404 BCE.
because they all hated each other's guts as the Spartans were jerks and the Athenians were as well.
Spartans might have been bothered by Athenian focus on arts and culture rather than military prowess, while Athenians might have been bothered by Spartan emphasis on a rigid, militaristic society that limited individual freedoms.
the Sparta were warriors so they looked down upon the Athenians as being weak. The Athenians were educated and schooled so they looked down upon the Spartans as being uneducated

The Spartans and Athenians had conflicting political systems and values, leading to mutual distrust and animosity. Sparta was a militaristic society that prioritized discipline and collective strength, while Athens valued democracy, culture, and individual expression. Their rivalry intensified during the Peloponnesian War, where competing interests and alliances further fueled their dislike for one another. This fundamental clash of ideologies contributed to a long-standing tension between the two city-states.
The Spartans did not have a war between each other.
If you would just cooperate, we could get our chores done. The pastor asked the two groups to cooperate with each other. When groups cooperate, they agree on certain goals and strategies.
