the glow plugs are located inside the the valve covers on the engine' the wire harness goes thru the cover gaskets.so this is a major job.if you break a gasket while removing, they cost about $70 , each to replace. you also need special tools to remove glow plugs. it is much easier and safer to take the truck to a reputable diesel mechanic.
The glow plug relay, on your 2004 Ford 6.0 liter diesel engine, can be found just below the fuse box. The fuse box can be found in the engine compartment.

If you cannot see a leak on the ground under the truck (and you should with this much oil) it sounds like the piston rings are pretty well worn out.
