It's in the fuel tank. You access it by going under the rear seat. Sounds easy enough, but there are dangers here where you really need a repair manual to do the job right, and most important, safely.

There was no indication in records of any MPV 4-cylinder, only 6-cylinder. Call your Mazda auto dealer's service department and ask for the location of this fuse.
You may need to remove the rubber sleeve to change the fuel pump, but vaseline on the ring will help it seal properly. You may need to drop the fuel tank before you begin.
The carbureted 86-93 Mazda trucks do have a catalytic converter off the exhaust manifold, whereas the fuel injected version does not. If you have the carbed version, and you put on a header (like a pacesetter) to replace the exhaust manifold, then you will get rid of 1 catalytic converter.

The Mazda Protege fuel reset button can be found on the firewall in the engine compartment. The reset button will be in the middle of the firewall.
