it took me quite a while to figure this out myself. it's a current problem on my car. It is on the drivers side of the upper intake manifold. Below the EGR valve.
You can find the map sensor behind the passenger side dashboard. You will need to remove the glove box in order to access the map sensor.
Replace sensor and clear code.
The purpose of a MAP sensor is to monitor the pressure of the intake manifold by automatically adjusted the amount of air or fuel being taken in. Symptoms of a bad MAP sensor include poor gas mileage, idling problems, and fouled spark plugs.
map sensor is located on the upper intake on the passenger side near the back.
YES it does. It should be close to intake.
mass or your map sensor most likely but could be many other problems, from a small sensor to a small leak in a head gasket
It is located to the right of the throttle body. It is square shaped.
the map sensor should be visable on the top of the engine, right behind the intake manifold.
The Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor is located on the firewall side of the upper intake manifold plenum
im missing something on the top half of motor i think it is the map sensor 3.4l
There is a slot on the upper side of the sensor. Just put a screw driver in it and and pull up and it should slide out.
Yes THere is a wire plug that comes up through the .intake cover and plugs into the bottom of the sensor.
Trouble code P0106 means: Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor Performance Try replacing the MAP sensor
if you open your hood and look to your right hand side there will be a breather box, and coming off the breather box there will be a rubber tube. Well on that rubber tube there is a black, skinny box with three wires coming out of it that would be your map sensor. Good luck, very simple to install.
You mean the MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor. On the 3400 engine it is located on the top of the engine, behind the aluminum intake. Open the hood and look at the intake (stamped 3400). Directly behind is the MAP sensor. It has a small 1" hose connected directly to the intake, as well as a weatherpak connector. It is approximately 3" X 1" and is black in color. Someone should answer for the 3800 engine.
Try using a rubber hose about the same diameter as the bulb.
It uses a MAP sensor. It uses a MAP sensor.
