On the left hand side (passengers side) of the gearbox. has 2 terminals coming out of it.
why wont the wip ers on a vr Holden commodore turn off, its in the off position,but they keep going ,the only way you can turn them off is turn the car off ,when you start the car they come on. you switch them off with the little hand piece on the right of the steering colume and they just keep going.
On the left side of the trans.
Remove the door panel. Remove the switch retainer. Remove the wiring harness. Reverse the process to install the new switch.

It sounds like the lower feed dogs are down. There should be a switch to raise them on the machine. Check with your machine's manual for its location. It sounds like the lower feed dogs need to be raised. Check your manual to find the location of the switch.

You didn't state weather it was an Automatic or Manual transmission. Well any way they are both on the transmission. Manual transmission has a separate switch for the backup lights the automatic is built into the neutral safety switch on the transmission. Automatic switch is about $50.00. Manual switch is about $10.00. Hope you have a manual it is a lot cheaper.
According to my Haynes manual, the reverse light switch is located on the top of the left end (driver's side) of the transaxel.Unplug the electrical connector from the switch and remove the switch with a socket DO NOT use an open end wrench.Installation is the reverse. Probably the reverse switch is bad or out of alignment. You'll need a manual to find the reverse switch. It'll be somewhere on the shifter, on the transmission, or possibly somewhere in between.
