There is no cure for gout, nor is there a cure for the damage that uric acid crystals do to joint tissue. There are treatments that involve anti inflammatory and diet to alleviate the symptoms however.

To stop swelling we usually take some sort of anti inflammatory. However in the case of gout it should be kept in mind that the problem that is causing the inflammation are uric acid crystals so diet adjustments may also be helpful.
