Which OS is most popular with graphic designers?

MACS are the hands down favorite of graphic designers and multimedia work. Early on the best (Adobe) software for graphic design and multimedia work was only written for the Mac operating system. Adobe now writes programs for both Mac and Windows, they have for several years now, but the stability of the Mac OS still keeps it in the lead.

Marketers would have you believe that Apple's Macintosh OS is what graphic designers use, but in reality, nowadays it really doesn't matter. Instead of basing a decision on which is more popular, make a decision by determining what factors are important to you. Price is a huge factor. Apple computers are very, very expensive compared to equivalent PCs. The GUI also has an impact in that the learning curve for a new user to either one may alter the decision-making process.

If you were to poll graphic designers, you would probably find that Apple Macintosh is the most popular. Statistically speaking, it may be difficult to asses due to how vague the term "Graphic Designer" is these days.
