There are two types of rocks that record the history of life on Earth. These rocks include fossils and geodes.
Rock fossils
From the history that is revealed in rock, particularly in fossils and the age of rock as determined by very precise radiometric dating techniques.
Earth science is about of course the earth. This includes palentology(study of the past), meteorology(study of climate), geology(study of Earth surface), and volcanology(study of volcanos). Life science is about biology(study of life), botany(study of plants),zoology(study of animals) and icthology (study of fish). Hoped this helped!
igneous rock, metamorpic rock and sedimentary rock
It is not. Mars is a planet, a mass of rock and minerals. So far, we have detected no certain evidence that there are any living things on Mars, although our half-dozen or so landers could easily have missed some unusual or strange form of life. And it's possible that there once WAS life on Mars, but that it has died off long since.

The rock cycle plays a significant part in the history of Earth, because of its orbit
Answer: Sedimentary rocks contain the entire history of life on earth that is available to us, and much of the history of the Earth itself. All of this information will help us determine how we got where we are today.

Solid Rock Records was created in 1975.
Geologist must use their knowledge of the events that disturb or remove rock-layer sequences to help piece together the history of Earth as told by the rock record.
