Amelia was named Amelia Mary Earhart after her two grandmothers, Amelia Harres Otis and Mary Wells Earhart -- a family tradition. It should also be noted that questioners who spell her last name wrong think it was "Airhart," and that her name had some relationship to her occupation as an aviator. It did not.

Well there was a spacecraft that the aliens owned, and when they were done with her, they put her back in teh ocean and the japanese took her, and they cut off her head and she lived! She ate the japanese, but couldn't go anywhere, and that's why they never found her because she couldn't move with out legs or her other half. Thank you! :)) <3 lol

Lady Lindy was tagged on her by the news media. obviously Amy is a slang nickname for Amelia as Stacy (good comparison) is for Anastasia. There may have been other nicknames.
