John Francis Bagley Leger was asked by King George Tupou the first to build the Tongan Royal Palace. John Leger was married to King George Tupou's granddaughter, Elizabeth Sheperd. Elizabeth was the daughter of one of King Tupou's daughters and a presumed white unnamed male who was supposedly killed by order of the King. Not sure if he was the architect and builder or just the builder but he was known for building houses and churches in Samoa.
