Dutch painter, who exemplified the idea of artist as tortured genius. His paintings are characterized by thick brush strokes, brilliant colors, and jagged lines, through which Van Gogh expressed his emotional response to his subjects rather than providing an accurate description of them.

And thus he influenced the expressionists.

This said, I'd personally say he influenced many more different artists than mentioned above. let's say most every other different artists style and techniques used by many individual artists after Vincent's appearance and disappearance in this MFA world of ours. Vincent had come a long ways in this field, especially after being known to most art appreciators as a real failure in the arts along with all the other odd jobs he was known to fail at also. These supposed ten years Vincent was known to produce art before committing suicide, thanks to his brother Theo his partner and art dealer, did in fact influence most all of his works of art and let's say all these different artist mentioned in more ways imaginable.
