Because he wanted to know if he could...no one gets anywhere without trying first.

that is not why.. he was on his way to get his brothers sword which he left at home then he came to this sword which was in the stone and he tought it was his brother's so he pulled it out and everyone was amazed.

This is not why either! Yes, Arthur was serving as his foster brother Kay's squire. And they were in London for the big tournament and a chance to have a go at the sword in the stone. Only they get to the tournament and realize Kay's sword got left behind. So Arthur/Wart, as the squire, has to go back to their lodgings to get the sword. Only when Arthur gets to the inn, its all locked up and he can't get to Kay's sword. So, he's desperate to help his brother and remembers the monumet of the sword in a stone. All the knights that were supposed to be guarding it have gone off to watch the tournament. Arthur is alone and thinks--I'll just borrow this one since no one is using it. And when he presents it to Kay? Well Kay at first tries to say he pulled it and should therefore be king. But Ector questions his son and we learn the truth--it was Arthur.
Because he was his brother's squire and thus, responsible for his weapon. But someone stole Kay's sword from their tent, so he looked for a new one. He had no idea about the legend, saw the sword in the stone and pulled it out easily. It should be noted that the sword in the stone was NOT Excalibur.

Merlin had bespelled the sword so that only the true born king could pull it from the stone. Arthur's ability to do so proved that he was Uther's son and the rightful king.

Why does the wart attempt to pull the sword from the stone?

In the Disney animated movie The Sword in Stone, Arthur, nicknamed Wart by Merlin, is accompanying Kaye to a joust as his squire. Wart forgets Kaye's sword and is headed back to fetch it when he comes across a sword embedded in stone. Wanting to get back to the tournament as soon as possible he decides to pull the sword from the stone and take it back to Kaye. What Wart didn't realize was that this sword was placed in the stone to be pulled from the stone only by the "rightwise born King of England." Others had tried but not been able to remove the sword. Wart easily pulls the sword from the stone and is acknowledge by everyone as Arthur, King of England.

Who managed to pull the sword out of the stone?

I believe you must mean who is the person who pulled the sword out of the stone. I think it's the little green guy you play as in The Legend of Zelda: 25th aniversary edition. You can download this for Dsi XL, but it will only be there until sometime in February. I hope this is helpful, because it is the best answer I've got.
