Kahlo contracted polio at six, which left her right leg thinner than the left, which Kahlo disguised by wearing long, colorful skirts. It has been conjectured that she also suffered from spina bifida, a congenital disease that could have affected both spinal and leg development. On September 17, 1925, Kahlo was riding in a bus when the vehicle collided with a trolley car. She suffered serious injuries in the accident, including a broken spinal column, a broken collarbone, broken ribs, a broken pelvis, eleven fractures in her right leg, a crushed and dislocated right foot, and a dislocated shoulder. An iron handrail pierced her abdomen and her uterus, which seriously damaged her reproductive ability. (Wikipedia)
The name is Frida, not Frita and there may be more than one answer: she spent most of her life in Coyoacan, where there's a museum now. On the other hand, you could say she spent most of her time in bed, due to serious problems with her back caused by a bus accident when she was young.

Frida Kahlo is often considered more famous than Diego Rivera today, largely due to her distinctive artistic style, her unique personal narrative, and her status as a feminist icon. While Rivera was a prominent muralist and influential in the art world, Kahlo's work and life story have garnered a more extensive global following and cultural impact. Her image and themes resonate widely, making her a symbol of strength and individuality.

Frida Kahlo's parents were not interested in experimenting with different ways of raising children because they adhered to traditional gender roles and societal norms of their time. They expected Frida to conform to those expectations rather than encouraging her to explore unconventional paths. Their conservative beliefs and strict upbringing limited Frida's freedom to express herself and pursue her interests outside of the prescribed norms of society.
