Hera was bitter over Zeus' infidelity. When she found out that Alcmene was carrying Zeus' child, she was livid. She focused all of her hatred on the offspring of their union, Heracles.
To most accounts she did so, out of jealousy - for Zeus was her husband and through his affair the father of Hercules.
Technically she didn't really kill Hephaestus but mortally harmed him. The reason though was the fact that he, Hephaestus, was a lame and ugly, a disgrace for Hera and her pride.
Hera did not want to kill Leto, but prevent her from ever giving birth to children of Zeus greater than her own.
The "son" in question was Hephaestos and he didn't die. ONe myth has Hera discarding her son because he was deformed. Another has Zeus kicking him from heaven for coming to his mother's aid.
Apollo(Apollon). Her twin brother. Their parents were Zeus(god of all gods, who cheated on Hera-goddess of heaven, his wife)and Leto(goddess of motherhood, modestly, and womenly demure. She may have also been the goddess of night, or, alternatively, the light of day{like her sister, Asteria}). Apollo and Artemis were born of the island of Delos--this is because Hera had figured out that Zeus cheated on her and created offspring with Leto. Hera banned Leto from giving birth on land. But, the island of Delos was a floating island, therefore it was not FIRM ground. Apollo & Artemis's greatgrandparents were both Ouranos(Sky)&Gaia(Earth)..(because they're grandparents--Ceous or Koios and Phoebe were siblings).
The Olympian goddess Artemis was daughter of Zeus and Leto twin sister of the Olympian god Apollo and both were born on the island of Delos. She was the goddess of hunting, wilderness and wild life.
Artemis' parents are Leto (mother) and Zeus (father). Her only true sibling is her twin brother Apollo, but she has many half siblings such as Athena, Ares, Hephaestus, Hermes, Persephone, Dionysus, Hercules, Perseus, and Helen, since she is the daughter of Zeus.
Artemis as a baby was a immortal goddess. Artemis was born of the immortal Olympian god Zeus and the immortal Titan goddess Leto.
Iris was the goddess of the rainbow. She often worked for Hera as Hermes worked for Zeus.
In Egyptian mythology, Horus is said to be the son of the goddess Isis and the god Osiris. Isis and Osiris are considered to be one of the most prominent divine couples in ancient Egyptian religion.
I don't think Leto (mother of Apollo) was the god of anything
Leto was the child of two titans Coeus and Pheobe. Leto and the king of the greek gods, Zeus, were expecting children. Hera Zeus's wife was angry that Leto was pregnant so she forbid her to have the children on the mainland of Greece or on ant islands. Zeus turned Leto into a quail, and when she gave birth she would be expected to feel as much pain as a bird laying her eggs. Even though Hera had forbid Leto to have the children on any part of Greece, she gave birth to the god Apollo and the goddess Artemis on the Greek island of Delos. It is said that Artemis was born first and helped Leto give birth to Apollo.
Apollo was born on the hovering island of Delos. Hera banned Apollo's mother, Leto, from actually giving birth to the son of Zeuson solid ground.
