People often say it was because Billy refused to work with John K but that isn't really the case.
Billy has said that he didn't think the new show would be funny and didn't want to put his name on it. He preferred the style of humor in the original with subtle innuendo rather than flat out gay jokes.
IMO Billy was right. The Adult Party Cartoon doesn't hold a candle to the John K run of R&S and isn't even any better than the post John K run of the original R&S
Billy gets trashed too much for getting re-hired for R&S and not sticking with John K's studio. Cause Billy and K did the voices of the main characters together fans romanticize the relationship that they were partners or friends. Billy was just hired to do a job that he lost because his boss refused to compromise. Then he was hired to do the job again with a new boss and took the job cause his old boss didn't have any work. Billy West is very talented and is better off not having his name on the Adult Party Cartoon.
