yes they do. but the fertilize it! Many gardeners use worms to fertilize their crops for better maintenance of their fruits and veggies.
P.S. Their "waste" is the fertilizing part. Hope this helps!
Soil contains organic matter such as rotting leaves, that earthworms can digest. An advantage to eating soil is that it is always available. It doesn't run away, it doesn't run out. So, it is a viable niche for earthworms.
no they eat dirt
Yes
earthworms will eat almost anything including dirt, fecesand many other quite disgusting i am quite sure the will avocado
Eathworms do not eat fruit because fruit does nothave other bugs in it for them to eat. Earthworms do not eat other insects they eat dirt for its nutrients. they do eat fruit as well how do you think we get compost from it?
They don't eat dirt, like many people believe. All earthworms eat decaying plant and animal matter, and they usually swallow some soil with it. They soil, however, passes right through and exits as castings. The decaying matter is what earthworms actually need for nutrients and energy.
Earthworms eat organic roots, leaves and other animals. In one day, they can eat one third of their body weight.
I would somewhat say yes, because earthworms live and fertilize the dirt. And dirt does affect the economy slightly. I mean, you do buy and sell dirt for lawns and gardens. And without earthworms, our dirt wouldn't be good for growing things in.

No. They are named 'Earth worms' because they live in and eat earth, that is, dirt.
Earthworms are prey. They eat only dirt, and no animals, so there's no way they could be a predator.no
earthworms eat dirt and then get eaten by a bird
yes earthworms do breath in dirt they do this through their skin as they have moist skin
They dig very far down into the dirt so birds can't eat them.
i am not sure but i am guessing that it would be because worms go though dirt and who knows whats in the dirt where the worms go.
soft mud/dirt
Well... You can't. Earthworms have a tendency to eat dirt since they live in it. So practically, they eat dirt and they dispose it! If you cut open a worm, you would see mostly dirt because that's what's inside! They eat it... They dispose of it... They live it.
