A bone scan, or x-ray is simply a different type of scan than an MRI. No kind of scan is better than another, it simply depends what the scan is trying to ascertain.
This varies slightly from place to place. The pelvic CT may require you to drink an oral preparation before the test and it may require an injection into a vein in your arm. This depends on what the doctor wants to see on your test. Your doctor will make an order telling the CT technologist what he wants or he may already have routine orders in place for what he wants for a certain test. The patient lays on the CT scan table for usually less than 10 minutes and newer machines may be less than 5 minutes. There are a few rare CT scans that may take longer or might require you to get rescanned after a certain time length. All of the above should be altered to what will give you the best scan.
A head scan looks primarily at the brain and a sinus scan looks only at the sinuses in the face region.
Manual Scan was created in 1981.
Yes and/or no. This depends on what the test is looking for and the policies of the place doing your CT and your doctor. Always talk to your doctor about alternatives and what is best for your case. For some CT tests, the oral prep (drink) is of minimal concern. For some CT tests it can be the main concern.
It's well worth the risk. If you are prescribed such a scan then you have something going on that your family doctor cannot figure out plus you must be in a lot of pain, therefore; the outcome is well worth the risk. Speedy62269

A septum ring will not show up in a CT scan because the jewellery will be removed before the scan is done. CT's and MRI's require that all jewellery be removed before the scans are done. This is standard hospital protocol and is not open to debate by the subject getting the scan.
It is easier to scan a network connected by hubs than by switches because a switch can limit traffic between subnets, whereas a hub cannot, and would therefore require more overhead to facilitate a scan.
